The Employee Record
One employee, three tabs — who they are, what they earn, and what they have been paid.
Clicking anyone in the register opens their record at /people/employees/:id. The header carries their name, employee number and a status pill; Edit reopens the hire page with everything loaded.
Three tabs, three questions
| Tab | Answers | Covered in |
|---|---|---|
| Profile | Who is this person, and what are their details? | This page |
| Payroll Management | What do they earn, and what comes off it? | Setting someone's pay |
| Payment History | What have we actually paid them? | An employee's payment history |

| Account Number | What the bank file pays into. Without it the person is skipped from the file. |
| Sort Code | |
| Swift Code |
A missing account number does not stop a payroll from posting — it stops the person from being paid, and it surfaces in the bank file preview as a skipped row. Catching it on the record is a minute; catching it after the bank upload is a phone call.
Editing
Edit in the header opens the hire page with the record loaded. It is one page, same as creating — the same four sections, the same required fields.
The hire page's Pay section always sends the complete set of items. That is fine and lossless — every existing item is preloaded — but it means the Pay section is not a section you can ignore while editing something else. If you only want to change pay, the Payroll Management tab is the more direct route.
What an employee sees of their own record
An employee on the Staff role can view their own record and can propose changes to their contact, emergency and bank details — never to their name, email, job or pay. They can never see anyone else's.
