Reporting

Reporting

Financial statements, sales, purchase, operations and people reports, custom reports, packs, exports and schedules.

Reporting is where Trabalance turns the documents you post and the journals they create into answers: what you earned, what you own and owe, what sold, what it cost, who you paid. It is a read-only module. Nothing you do in Reporting changes a balance — every number is computed by the server from the same ledger, documents and inventory engine the rest of the app uses, and the screen only displays what it is given.

Reporting opens from the Reporting entry in the sidebar (the /reporting route). It sits after People in the module order.

The module at a glance: five live views, figures that arrive computed, six gated categories, and the two boundaries that hold everywhere.

How Reporting Is Organised

The surfaces inside Reporting
SurfaceWhat it isWhere
Reporting hubThe landing page. Five live views (Sales, Financial, Purchases, Operations, People) made of already-rendered insight cards, governed by one period picker and compared against the prior period./reporting
Report catalogEvery report you are permitted to open, grouped into six categories, with search and suggestions./reporting?view=all
Report pageOne report with its period, filters, grouping, measure, units, view, templates, export, email and schedule controls./reporting/<report path>
Custom reportsYour own saved reports: table reports (pick columns from a module) and composed reports (combine existing reports into a pack)./reporting/custom/…
Daily packsA locked end-of-day snapshot for one date and location: system figures plus the manager's own entries./reporting/packs
Group reportingThe Group Management Report and the consolidated trial balance across companies you hold a role in. Shown only when you belong to more than one business./reporting/group
Period closeThe close workflow lives under Reporting too. It is documented in Finance./reporting/period-close

Six Report Categories

The catalog holds 117 reports. Each category is gated on its own features or roles, so what you see is what you are allowed to read — a report you cannot open is never listed.

CategoryReportsGated on
Financial & General20Super Administrator or Administrator role, plus the Finance journals or chart-of-accounts feature
Sales34Any of: Invoices, Sales Receipts, Sales Orders, Payment receipts, Customers
Purchases24Any of: Bills, Expenses, Purchase Orders, Payment vouchers, Vendors
Operations27Any of: Products, Inventory, Production, Fixed assets, Projects
People11Any of: Personnel, Payroll, Requisitions
Administration1Super Administrator or Administrator role — independent of any module subscription
🚨Staff never sees Reporting

The Staff role is self-service only. It has no Reporting entry in the sidebar, cannot open any report page, catalog, custom report, pack, schedule or export, and every report endpoint refuses it on the server. This is not configurable — a custom role built on the Staff authority is refused the same way. See Permissions.

Three Rules That Hold Everywhere

RuleWhat it means for you
Figures are computed on the serverTotals, subtotals, running balances, shares and comparisons arrive ready-made. The page formats them; it never adds them up. Two screens showing the same figure always agree because they read one source.
Centers are the first filterUnless you are a Super Administrator or Administrator, every report is bound to the locations on your center allow-list. An empty allow-list means no data, never everything.
Drafts don't countReports read posted documents. A draft invoice or bill is invisible to every report until it is posted, and a voided document leaves the figures with its journal.

Reporting Topics

Find a Report

Where you land, how the five live views work, and how to search 117 reports in the words you actually use.

Read a Report

One toolbar, ten controls — and a page for each: the period, the grouping, the filters, the saved view, the chart.

Financial Statements

Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Changes in Equity, Trial Balance, comparisons, bridges, ratios, tax and bank summaries, working capital, and the General Ledger.

Module Reports

Sales, purchase, operations, people and administration reports — registers, performance, trends, concentration, margins, inventory, production, assets, projects, payroll and the audit trail.

Prove the Figures

Age what is owed, tie the subledger to the control account, download a workbook with a sheet per party or item, and consolidate a group.

Build Your Own

Table reports from a module's own columns, the grain rule that keeps their totals honest, composed reports, and the daily pack.

Get Reports Out

Download, email or WhatsApp a report, have it send itself on a rhythm, and manage every delivery the business has running.

Who Sees What

How a report is gated, how centers bound the data, and why the Staff role never reaches Reporting at all.
