Proposing a Change to Your Own Details

Employee self-service — keep your contact, emergency and bank details right without anyone giving you access to the register.

My details lets an employee correct their own phone number, emergency contact or bank account without HR retyping it, and without anyone being given access to the employee register. Nothing typed here lands on the record directly — every edit becomes a change request for HR to confirm.

My details — three cards, Edit on each, the note for HR, Submit for confirmation, and the banner while a request is waiting.

Where it is

/my-details, reached from the profile menu, and from a card on the employee dashboard.

It shows the caller's own employee record and nothing else. The record is resolved from the signed-in session, so there is no employee to pick and no id in the URL — there is no version of this page that can show somebody else.

The three cards

CardFields
ContactPhone, address.
Emergency contactName, relation, phone, alternate phone, email, address.
BankBank, bank branch, account name, account number, sort code, SWIFT code.

Each card is read-only until you press Edit on it.

Submitting

1
Open a card and change what is wrong

Only the fields you actually changed are sent. A card you opened and closed unchanged sends nothing.

2
Add a note if it helps

Optional, and worth it. "Changed banks in August — the new account is in my own name" is the difference between HR approving it and HR ringing you.

3
Submit for confirmation

The button appears only once something has genuinely changed. The page then shows a banner while the request is waiting.

ℹ️Email is never self-service

The email address is your login identity, so it cannot be changed here. Ask HR to change it on the record.

✅A new submission replaces the last one

If you submit again while an earlier request is still waiting, the new one supersedes it. There is never more than one set of proposed changes pending per person — so if you spot a mistake in what you sent, just send the corrected version.

What happens next

HR sees the request as a diff — every field as old value → new value — and either approves it, which writes all of it to your record at once, or rejects it with a note back to you. See Approving a profile change.

Your record is unchanged until they approve. Nothing is half-applied.
