My Payslips
What an employee sees of their own pay — the latest payslip, the trend, the year to date, and every payslip they have ever had.
An employee on the Staff role who has been granted Payroll sees one page: their own payslips. It is the same URL the payroll list uses — the product decides which of the two to show from the role, so there is no separate portal and no second address to remember.
For employees this feature is labelled Payslips everywhere — in the sidebar, on the dashboard card, on the page. Never "Payroll", never "Pay schedule", never "Pay run". Those are the administrator's words for a cross-employee object; an employee has payslips.
The latest payslip
The page opens on the most recent one: the period it covers, the net pay as the headline figure, the date it was paid, and its status. Beneath it, gross, deductions and tax for the same period.
Download PDF produces exactly the document a manager would download for that person — same builder, same endpoint, same format. Tapping the payslip itself opens the full breakdown.
Net pay over time
Where there is more than one payslip, a chart plots net pay across the most recent ones, oldest first, with the change against the previous payslip beside it.
Someone on an unchanged salary produces identical values every month. The chart centres a constant line rather than pinning it to the floor, so "nothing changed" reads as nothing changed instead of looking like zero pay.
Year to date
Four figures for the current calendar year — gross, deductions, tax and net — with the number of payslips they cover, and a bar showing how gross splits into take-home, deductions and tax.
| Figure | Covers |
|---|---|
| Gross | Total earnings across every payslip paid in the current year. |
| Deductions | Total deductions across the same payslips. |
| Tax | Total tax across the same payslips. |
| Net | What was actually received. |
A payslip counts towards a year by the date it was paid, not the period it covered. A December period paid in January belongs to January's year.
The history
Every payslip beneath, newest first, each opening its own full breakdown: earnings, deductions and taxes as separate sections, ending in net pay, with its own Download PDF.
What the employee cannot see
Only pay runs that have been posted are visible. A draft is work in progress: figures may still change, and nobody has been paid. It is filtered out on the server and again on the page, so a stale response cannot leak one.
The page resolves the employee from the signed-in session. There is no employee to pick and no id to change — and passing someone else's id on any payroll route does not widen it, because the server overrides it back to the caller's own record and logs the attempt.
Staff also never reach the pay schedules list, the pay-run workspace, the posting dialog, the bank file, or any Reporting surface. See Employee portal.
Empty states
| What they see | Why |
|---|---|
| No payslips yet | They have been created as an employee, but no pay run covering them has been posted yet. |
| Couldn't load your payslips | A transient failure. Refreshing is the right first move; the page says so rather than showing an empty list that reads as "you have never been paid". |
Self-service resolves an employee by matching the email they sign in with against the email on their employee record. If those differ, nothing resolves. Check the email on the record first — see Hiring an employee. A deactivated employee also stops resolving, by design.
