Attaching to Documents

Keep a file with the transaction it belongs to. It stays on the document, and it shows up in Files with the document's number.

Navigate to: any document form → add the Attachments field

A signed delivery note belongs with the invoice, not in a general pile. Attaching it puts it in both places at once: on the document, and in the Files list with that document as its Source.

Adding the field

Attachments is an optional field: it is not on the form until you add it from the optional-field pills at the bottom of the form. Add it and the picker appears; remove it and the files you had chosen come off with it.

The zone"Drop files here or click to upload", with "Max 10MB per file" beneath it.
The listEach chosen file with its size and a ✕ to remove it before you save.
Adding moreOnce files are listed, the zone is replaced by an add button — the list stays visible.
Too large"<name> exceeds 10MB limit" — the file is not added, and the others are kept.

Files are stored when the document is saved, not when you pick them. Leaving the form without saving leaves nothing behind.

On the saved document

A saved document shows its attachments in their own section, which is only rendered when there is at least one — a document with no attachments carries no empty card. Downloading from there does exactly what downloading from Files does.

✅Attach rather than upload, when there is a document

An upload made in Files has no document to name, so it reads Import in both Source and Reference and can only be found by its filename. An attachment carries the document number with it for the rest of its life, which is what you will actually search by later.
