Checklist Structure
Every item on the setup checklist is a question with a hint, options that say what they turn on, and follow-ups that appear only when relevant.

The setup checklist on /setup is built from one repeating element: a question. Every question has the same anatomy, so once you have read one you have read them all.
Anatomy of a question
| Part | What it is |
|---|---|
| Question | What the checklist is asking — for example "What does your business sell?" Written in plain words; never a module name. |
| Hint | A one-line steer under the question, only where one is needed: "Pick both if you do both." / "Tick everything that happens." |
| Option | A card you tick. Every question allows more than one answer. |
| What it turns on | The line under each option names what ticking it puts in front of you — "Inventory", "The till", "Bills, payables and ageing". |
| Selected state | A ticked option shows a filled checkbox and an accent border; an unticked one a hairline border. |
| Follow-up | Some questions exist only because of an earlier answer: "Where do those things come from?" appears once you tick "Things you can touch"; "Who does the making?" once you tick "You make them". Untick the parent and the follow-up disappears, along with what it had turned on. |
Two parts, visibly separate
- Part one — what your business does. Five questions at most, under an All free badge. "Every answer here is free on every plan. It changes what you see, never what you can do."
- Part two — what you want separate scorecards for. A card of its own with two counts, Locations and Departments, and a badge showing the plan band. It is the only part that touches what you pay.
ℹ️Nothing is switched off
An answer decides what is in front of you, never what you may do. Say you do not invoice and Invoices leaves the home screen and drops down the create sheet — it stays in search and at its own route. That is what makes the answers honest: if a "no" could block real work, people would tick everything defensively, and a defensive answer configures nothing.
