Onboarding

Saving or Skipping

Set up my books saves the details and your answers and opens the dashboard. Skip for now opens it with nothing saved and nothing lost.

Navigate to: the bottom of /setup

Both buttons end in the same place — the dashboard. The only difference is whether anything was written.

The two ways out of /setup, and the line that tells you which is available.

When Set up my books is available

Cue under the buttonsWhen you see it
"Give your business a name to continue"The business name is shorter than 2 characters, or the currency is not a three-letter code.
"Answer a couple of questions to continue"The details are fine, but fewer than two questions in part one are answered.
"You can change any of this later"Ready — Set up my books is enabled.

Two answers is the whole bar. The checklist is not a form to complete; it is a conversation to start.

What Set up my books writes

WhatWhere it goes
Your business detailsThe business record — the same call Settings → Profile makes.
Your answersThe product's navigation-visibility overlay: what stays in front of you and what moves out of the way.
Nothing elseNo subscription, no price, no permission is written by this page.

The dashboard then opens with a full page load rather than a click-through, so your session picks up the business name, the currency and the new arrangement in one go.

✅A failed save never strands a new account

If part of the save does not go through you are told — "We could not save part of your setup. You can finish it later from Settings." — and let into the dashboard anyway. The answers only shape the product; they are never worth holding someone at a screen for.

Skip for now

Opens the dashboard with the product exactly as it was. Nothing is saved, nothing is lost, and the trial is unaffected — it started at registration, not here.

Skipping is a real option, not a penalty. The product with no answers is the product with everything visible, which is a perfectly good place to start if you would rather look around first.

Coming back

A Super Administrator can open /setup again at any time and answer again. Everything on the page is also reachable in Settings:
