Creating a Plan

Choose a type, a year and a period, pick how the grid is split into columns, and optionally scope the plan to a center.

Navigate to: Planner → + New Plan.

A plan is a type, a period, and a set of grid columns. Everything else — rows and targets — is entered afterwards in the plan grid. Creating the plan opens it straight away.

The New Plan form, built from the same components the app uses.

The Form, Field by Field

FieldDetails
TypeRequired. Sales, Purchases, Expenses, Cash Flow, or P&L Plan, each shown as a tile with a one-line description. Sales is selected when the form opens. Cannot be changed after creation.
Plan NameOptional. The placeholder shows the name that will be used if you leave it blank: "[Type] Plan - [Period] [Year]", e.g. "Sales Plan - Q1 2026", or "P&L Plan - 2026" for a P&L plan.
YearRequired. Four buttons: last year, this year, and either of the next two. Changing the year clears the period and, on a P&L plan, the sub-plan ticks.
Link Sub-PlansP&L only, and it replaces the period controls. Tick existing plans for the chosen year. At least one is required. See Linking sub-plans.
PeriodRequired for every type except P&L. Quick presets Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Full Year; a single month; or your own From / To dates. See Choosing the period.
Grid ColumnsMonthly, Quarterly, Weekly, or Daily — how the period is split into grid columns. Every preset and every single month sets this to Monthly; change it afterwards if you want a different split.
Center / LocationOptional, and shown only when the business has centers. "All Centers (company-wide)" by default.

Creating One

1
Pick the type

The type decides where rows come from, what a cell holds, and where actual figures are read from. It is fixed for the life of the plan — to change type, create a new plan.

2
Name it, or don't

A blank name takes the generated one. Give it a real name when you will have several plans of the same type in a year, e.g. "Retail revenue — original budget" alongside "Retail revenue — H2 reforecast".

3
Choose the year, then the period

A quarter, the full year, one month, or a custom From / To range.

4
Choose the grid columns

Monthly for a budget, Weekly or Daily for a short campaign, Quarterly for a light annual plan.

5
Scope to a center, if it applies

Leave it company-wide unless you want one location's plan. Read Access and committee roles first — the scope narrows actuals on some plan types and not others.

6
Create Plan

The button is disabled until a period is set — or, for a P&L plan, until at least one sub-plan is ticked. Creating opens the new plan's page.

Immediately After Creation

A new plan has no targets, so the Overview shows "This plan has no targets yet" with an Add Targets button that opens the plan grid. A P&L plan opens on its consolidated view straight away and never has a grid.

What Cannot Be Changed Later

SettingChangeable after creation?
TypeNo. There is no type control on the plan page.
Name, period, grid columns, centerNot from the plan page — the app offers no edit form for a plan’s own settings. Create a fresh plan when these need to change.
Rows and targetsYes, at any time, in the plan grid.
Sub-plan linksSet at creation on the P&L form.
ℹ️Production and Payroll

The New Plan screen offers five types. Production and Payroll are not among them. Existing plans of those types still open, accept targets in the grid, and track actuals — see Production plan and Payroll plan.

⚠️The year after next

The Year buttons on this form reach two years ahead, but the year filter on the Planner home offers only last year, this year, and next year. A plan created for the year after next will not appear under any of those buttons until that year comes into range.
