Planner

The Plan Grid

Spreadsheet-style grid where rows are items, accounts, or employees and columns are time periods.

The plan grid is where targets are entered. Open it with Edit Plan on a plan's page, or Add Targets on a plan that has none. Click any cell to set its target, then Save Changes.

The plan grid for a Sales plan, built from the same components the app uses.

Anatomy

PartDetails
HeaderThe plan name, its period dates, and "(center-specific)" when the plan is scoped to a center. A "Back to Plan" link returns to the Overview.
ToolbarOn the left, the plan type and grid-column type — e.g. "Sales · monthly". On the right, the Add button.
Row columnFrozen to the left, labelled Item, Product, Account, or Employee depending on the plan type. Hovering a row shows a × to remove it.
Period columnsOne per period. The grid scrolls sideways when there are more than six.
CellsEither Quantity × Rate or a direct Amount. A cell with no value shows an em-dash.
Total columnOn the right, a total per row across every period.
Total rowAt the foot, a total per period across every row, and a grand total in the corner.
Save ChangesTop right. Disabled until something changes. Nothing is stored until you press it.

Every total recalculates as you type — they are read from what is on screen, not from what is saved.

Cell Modes

Plan TypeCell ModeFields in the editor
Sales, Purchases, ProductionQuantity × RateQuantity, Rate (labelled "Rate (price per unit)", "Rate (cost per unit)", or "Cost per unit"), and the computed Value.
Expenses, Cash Flow, PayrollAmountA single Amount.

See Cell modes for what each mode stores, and Entering a target for the editor itself.

Adding Rows

The toolbar button reads Add Item, Add Product, Add Account, or Add Employee depending on the plan type. It opens a searchable list grouped by category, with an Add all link per group. Rows already in the grid are not listed. See Adding rows.

An empty grid reads Click "Add Item" to start planning — with the button's own label in the message.

What the Grid Does Not Do

Not in the gridWhere it is instead
Actual figuresThe plan's Overview tab. The grid is targets only.
Row orderingRows appear in the order they were added and cannot be dragged.
Copy, fill, or paste across cellsEach cell is set on its own.
UndoLeaving without saving discards the change; there is no undo inside the grid.
A grid for P&L plansA P&L plan has no rows of its own and no Edit Plan button.
ℹ️Nothing is written until you save

Adding a row, typing a figure, or removing a row changes only what is on screen. Save Changes writes it. Navigating away first loses the edits — and the browser does not warn you.
