Reporting Hub
The Reporting landing page: five live views, one period, compared against the prior period.
Open Reporting from the sidebar and you land on the hub — a live analytics workspace rather than a list of links. It is made of insight cards, each fed by the same report endpoint the full report uses, so a figure on the hub is the same figure you get when you open the report.
Navigate to: Reporting (/reporting)
The Five Views
The hub is split into views, one per report category. Each view is a wall of cards for that category's reports.
| View | What the cards cover |
|---|---|
| Sales | Sales performance (with prior-period deltas), revenue over time, sales by customer / item / hour / employee / center / project, best sellers, gross profit by item, receivables aging, customer balances, tax collected, invoice register, customer receipts, credit notes, margin by transaction, quotes & estimates. |
| Financial | Profit & loss bridge, financial ratios, spend and income bridges, income and expense by account, balance sheet, cash flow, trial balance, bank & cash accounts, tax summary, changes in equity, journal entries, general ledger. |
| Purchases | Purchase performance, spend over time, spend by vendor / item / center / project, top purchased items, payables aging, vendor balances, vendor payments, tax paid, bill register, debit notes. |
| Operations | Inventory valuation, stock levels, valuation by center, cost of sales, item profitability, inventory turnover, stock aging, low stock, out of stock, wastage, production cost, top produced items, project profitability, center performance, fixed assets, depreciation. |
| People | Payroll summary, payroll cost over time, headcount, demographics, deductions, allowances, turnover, tenure, payment requests, employee directory. |
A view only appears when you can open at least one of the reports behind it, and within a view you only see the cards for reports you are permitted to open. If none of your features carries a reporting grant the hub shows No reports available — Your role doesn't include any reporting features.
One Period, Compared Fairly
A single period picker in the sticky command bar governs every card on the view. The default is This month, clamped to today. Every card that compares shows the same elapsed span in the prior period, calendar-aligned — the header reads Live view · compared against …(same elapsed days). An open period is always clamped to today so that a month in progress is never compared against a full month.
What a Card Is
A card answers one question at a glance and carries an Open action into the full report with the hub's period and the card's grouping applied. Cards take one of a fixed set of forms: KPI tiles with prior-period deltas, a daily trend, a ranked bar list (top entries, with a note naming how many more exist in the full report), a share-of-total donut, the P&L waterfall bridge, a compact statement table, aging bands, or the report's own totals block.
Overview cards deliberately carry no tables. A register's glance is its count and its value, read from the report's own totals; the table itself lives one click away in the full report.
Where a card shows a count of zero on an exception list (low stock, out of stock) it says so as good news — Every item is above its reorder point / Nothing is out of stock — rather than as missing data. Every card is filtered and totalled on the server; nothing on the hub is summed in the browser.
The Command Bar
The bar stays pinned as you scroll so the governing controls are always in reach.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| View tabs | Switch between Sales, Financial, Purchases, Operations and People. The active view is carried in the URL as ?view=. |
| + Custom report | Opens the composed-report builder (/reporting/custom/new). |
| Period picker | Sets the period for every card on the view. |
| Group | Opens Group reporting. Shown only when your login belongs to more than one business. |
| Packs | Opens the daily packs list. |
| All reports | Opens the full catalog (/reporting?view=all). |
Beneath the bar, a My reports rail lists your saved custom reports. It stays hidden until you have saved one. At the foot of the page a line states how many reports are available to you in the full catalog, with a browse all link.
The Catalog View
All reports opens the catalog at /reporting?view=all, titled Reports with the count of reports available to you.
- Search reports filters the permitted catalog by name and description as you type. When a search finds fewer than three matches, plain-language synonyms are offered under Were you looking for one of these? or Related to your search.
- Suggested for you shows a row of everyday starter reports when there is no search.
- The catalog itself is grouped by category, each showing its report count, with one row per report (name and description). Clicking a row opens the report; "by-X" reports open with their grouping already applied, and trend reports open with a monthly breakdown.
- My reports sits above the catalog, with a New report menu offering Table report — pick your own columns and Composed report — combine existing reports.
- Administrators also see Templates (saved views, see Reading a report) and Periods, which opens the period-close workflow documented under Finance → Period Close.
The full list of what is in each category is on Report catalog.
