Financial Statements
Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Changes in Equity, Trial Balance, comparisons, bridges, ratios and summaries.
The Financial & General category is the scoreboard proper: the statements an accountant, lender or auditor expects, read straight from the posted ledger. Every line is a server-computed ledger figure. The category is listed only to Super Administrators and Administrators, and each report additionally needs the Finance feature that owns its data (Journals or Chart of Accounts) — see Permissions.
Finance reports open on the current calendar year by default and accept a Center filter; the Profit and Loss also accepts a Project filter.

Profit and Loss
The P&L is a statement: headers, groups and items that expand and collapse, with gross profit, operating income and net income as structural lines. It supports Compare (Total, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-annual, Annual columns), a Group by center column layout, and Project and Center filters.
With View as set to anything other than Table, a single-period P&L shows four cards — Revenue, Gross profit, Net income, Total costs (the last three as a percentage of revenue) — then a Profit & loss bridge waterfall from revenue to net income, an Income composition panel of the largest income lines and a Cost & expense composition panel of the largest cost lines. A multi-column P&L shows the key lines (total revenue, gross profit, operating income, net income) across periods, a side-by-side period comparison and a Summary lines table with one column per period.
Clicking any account line opens the account's detail page with the report's dates applied.
Balance Sheet and Trial Balance
Both are position statements built from the ledger for the chosen period, and both accept Compare so the columns become successive period-end positions. The key lines surfaced in the insight view are total assets, total liabilities and total equity for the Balance Sheet, and total debits and total credits for the Trial Balance. The report's own summary carries a balanced flag so a statement that does not tie is visible at once.
The Trial Balance is rendered as a hierarchical table: sections collapse to their totals and expand to their accounts. Each account links to its detail page.
Trial Balance totals, ledger totals and the sum of visible transactions are computed from the same posted journal lines. If a figure on one screen ever disagrees with another for the same period and scope, that is a defect to report, not a setting to change.
Cash Flow Statement and Changes in Equity
The Cash Flow Statement is a structured statement with operating, investing and financing sections; its summary carries net income, cash from each activity, the net change in cash, and opening and closing cash with a balanced flag. The Statement of Changes in Equity is a columnar statement of equity components; its summary carries opening equity, net income, dividends declared, the total change and closing equity. Neither offers grouping or a measure selector, and neither row links to a document — they are read as statements.
Comparisons and Bridges
P&L Comparison and Balance Sheet Comparison place the current period beside the prior one with the change and change percentage. Spend Bridge and Income Bridge answer the follow-up question — which accounts moved, and by how much — as a ranked list of per-account changes against the prior period. On the hub these two render as ranked bars of the change.
Analyses
- Income by Account and Expense by Account list each income or expense account with its total for the period and the account count.
- Financial Ratios reports the current ratio, debt to equity and net profit margin.
- Revenue & Expense Trend plots monthly income against expense with net income.
- Tax Summary sets tax collected against tax paid and states the net liability.
- Bank Account Summary lists every bank and cash account with its balance and a movement column; with Compare it becomes a month-by-month position, never summed across time.
- Working Capital opens with monthly columns: cash, receivables, inventory and payables — opening, each period, and the movement.
Period Close
The period-close workflow (Period close list, Close period, close detail) is reached from Reporting at /reporting/period-close and from the catalog's Periods button. It is documented under Finance → Period Close.
