Reporting

Exporting a Report

Download any report as PDF, Excel or CSV, print it, and understand how a large export is built without tying up the page.

Every catalog report exports from the Export menu on its toolbar. What you export is what is on screen: the same period, filters, grouping, measure and units.

Set the period, open Export, choose a format — and let it build. A large report never blocks the page while its file is being made.

The Export Menu

Menu itemWhat you get
PDFA formatted PDF of the report. When a chart view is on screen, up to twelve of those charts are captured and rendered on trailing pages.
ExcelAn XLSX workbook of the table. Table only — no charts.
CSVComma-separated values of the table.
PrintThe same PDF, opened in a new tab with the print dialog.
Email report…Opens the Send report dialog — see Emailing a report.

While a file is being built the button reads Exporting…. The file is named after the report path and its period — finance-pl-2026-01-01-2026-12-31.pdf. A failure raises an Export failed toast with the reason.

✅Ranking reports export every row

Sales Performance, Purchase Performance and Sales Margin by Transaction show 50 rows by default and carry a Show top selector. The export ignores it and includes the whole set.

⚠️If nothing appears after Print

Print opens a new tab, so a pop-up blocker can swallow it silently. The page tells you rather than leaving you waiting: Print window was blocked — Allow pop-ups for this site, or use Export PDF instead.

How an Export Runs

Exports are built in the background and polled, so a report covering a year of documents does not freeze the page it came from.

1
Start

A job is created for the report path, the period, the filters and the format. A format the platform does not recognise is refused; no format at all defaults to PDF.

2
Build

The page checks every 1.5 seconds. The job is processing, then completed or failed. Checking stops after five minutes: Export timed out after 5 minutes. Try a shorter date range or fewer columns.

3
Download

A finished file downloads automatically, once.

The limits, and what they say
LimitMessage
A file over 25 MBExport is too large to deliver (NN MB). Narrow the date range or filters.
A finished file asked for twiceExport not ready, expired, or already downloaded. A file downloads once.
Asking more than five minutes after it was startedThis export is no longer available. Exports stay downloadable for 5 minutes — please run it again.
Another user's jobRefused, and refused in exactly the same words as an expired one — confirming which it was would disclose that somebody else's export exists.

Filters Are Named, Not Just Applied

An export carries the names of the filters in force, not their identifiers — a PDF says Center: London and Customer: Acme Corp. A reader who was not there when you ran it can still tell what they are holding.

Units travel too: a report read in Thousands exports in Thousands, so the screen and the file never disagree.

Pages That Print Instead

A handful of surfaces are laid out as a printable page rather than a table, and carry a Print / PDF button that prints the page from your browser instead of building a file on the server:

SurfaceWhy
Bank & Cash PulseA composed analytics page, not a table
Collections by BankThe same
Group reporting (consolidated view)A multi-section pack with a masthead
Composed reportsBuilt as a printable pack, with the header you designed
Daily packsA frozen snapshot printed as issued

Ledger workbooks are different again: always Excel, always built on the server, and documented under Ledger workbooks. Table reports export their full result set from the server, up to 5,000 rows — see Building a table report.

Every Export Is Recorded

Each download is written to the security log as a data export — the module, the resource and the format — and appears in the tenant activity timeline. Exporting requires the same permission as reading the report; there is no separate export right to grant or withhold.
