Cash Flow Plan
The Cash Flow Plan sets a planned movement for each cash and bank account by period and compares it with the account's posted movement.

The Cash Flow Plan answers: how much movement do we expect on each cash and bank account in each period? Rows are your accounts, cells are planned amounts, and actuals are the movement the ledger recorded.
Row Source
Rows come from the chart of accounts — accounts whose detail type is Cash or Bank, or whose name contains "cash" or "bank" — grouped by detail type, with the account code shown. Use Add Account to search and select. Each row is one account: an operating account, a foreign-currency account, a reserve account, or a petty cash float.
Cell Mode: Amount
Each cell holds a single planned amount for that account in that period, entered as a positive figure. Negative values are not stored. The plan does not separate inflows from outflows.
Example
| Account | Jan | Feb | Mar | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Operating Account — USD | 24,000 | 18,000 | 31,000 | 73,000 |
| Operating Account — GBP | 8,500 | 7,200 | 9,100 | 24,800 |
| Tax Reserve Account | — | — | 22,000 | 22,000 |
| Petty Cash — Singapore | 800 | 600 | 700 | 2,100 |
| Total | 33,300 | 25,800 | 62,800 | 121,900 |
The tax reserve account has a planned movement only in March — a quarterly tax payment. Empty cells are simply not planned.
Actuals
Open the plan to see targets against actuals. For each account and period the actual is the account's net posted movement in that period, shown as a positive figure — so a planned amount is compared with the size of the movement, whichever direction it ran.
Status badges and colours follow the same scale as every plan: Exceeded from 100%, On Track from 80%, At Risk from 50%, Behind below. See Progress Display.
The center chosen at creation labels the plan; the actual for each account is its movement across the whole business.
The Cash Flow Plan works in period movements. It does not show opening or closing balances, and it does not project a running balance — use the Finance reports for balances.
A Cash Flow plan can be linked to a P&L plan and is listed there as a sub-plan, but it is not added to the P&L plan's Income or Expenses totals.
